The mission of the Rio Grande Valley Regional Science and Engineering Fair (RGV RSEF) is to stimulate an understanding and appreciation of science and engineering concepts through a competition that supports student interest in a wide variety of science-related fields of study.

The 2024 Fair will be the 64th consecutive annual Science and Engineering Fair competition for South Texas.

We are interested in getting information from individuals who may have competed in early Fairs or were instrumental in setting up the Fairs.

Competition in the 1990s was hosted by the Harlingen Elks Lodge and Harlingen CISD and transferred to the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2001. UTRGV has continued to host and co-sponsor the regional fair to the present time.
