Agenda for Saturday, February 15, 2020

8:00 AM

Students and Judges check in to their respective location:

9:00 AM

Judging Starts – Sponsors and Parents are not allowed to go into the competition sites—only judges and monitors are allowed during judging

10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Session for Sponsors in Sabal Hall Lecture Room 1.104 on "Navigating the College process and in particular importance of STEM fields" and other topics

Noon-12:30 PM (As soon as all categories have been judged)

Students dismissed from sites to have lunch.

1:30 PM

Judging continues for Senior (HS) Grand Champion and Special Award Judging

No Grand Champion judging will occur for the Junior Division but there are Special Awards to be presented at the Awards Ceremony.

2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Grand Champion Judging completed

Students, sponsors and the public can participate in UTRGV Science Fair Conference in Sabal Hall Lecture Rooms. Presentations will be made on rotations through four rooms ranging from physics activities through UTRGV Outreach programs.

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Community Project Viewing at competition sites:

· Junior Division Competition at Garza Gym and Gran Salon

· Senior Division Competition at Music, Science and Learning Center (MSLC) and Salon Cassia

Top six category award candidate lists will be posted at the competition locations and Jacob Brown Auditorium sites. The information will also be posted on this website.

5:00 to 5:30 PM

Project take-down at all competition sites.

Doors open for RGV RSEF Awards Ceremony at Jacob Brown Auditorium (there will be reserved seating for the top six students in all categories and divisions).

6:00 PM to 8:30 PM

60th RGV Regional Science and Engineering Fair Awards Ceremony at Jacob Brown Auditorium

Welcome and Guest Speakers

Presentation of Category Awards for both Junior and Senior Divisions (6th to 1st Place Winners)

(Top four places in all 16 categories and both divisions will advance to the Texas State Science and Engineering Fair)

Special Awards for Junior and Senior Divisions

Announcement of Broadcom MASTERS Junior Division Nominees

Senior Division Grand Champion and Runner Ups (all four projects will advance to the Regeneron ISEF)
